Christmas Recipes - Caraway Seed Cakes Recipe

Ingredients

  • 200g butter

  • 1 tbsp single cream

  • grated rind of 1 orange

  • 4 dl plain flour (barely 200 g)

  • 2 tbsp freshly squeezed orange juice

Serves 4-5


Method:

  1. Rub the butter into the flour and add the remaining ingredients.

  2. Quickly work together to form a dough and allow to rest in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.

  3. Roll out the pastry, not too thinly, and cut desired shapes with pastry cutters.

  4. Place cakes on  a baking sheet covered with baking paper, brush with water and sprinkle with a mixture of coarse sugar and caraway seeds.

  5. Bake at 225 degrees until cakes are pale gold in color.
