Desserts Recipes - Coeurs a la Crème Recipe

Ingredients

Serves 6

  • 250 g/8 oz cream cheese

  • 150 ml/1/4 pint natural yogurt

  • 2 tablespoons clear honey, plus extra for serving

  • 1 egg white

  • 250 g/8 oz strawberries

  • redcurrant sprigs, to decorate


Method:

  1. Place the cream cheese, yogurt and honey in a bowl and mix well. Whisk the egg white until fairly stiff then fold into the cream cheese mixture.

  2. Line 6 heart-shaped perforated moulds with muslin, spoon in the cream cheese mixture and smooth the tops.

  3. Place on a plate and leave to drain in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours. Turn out on to individual dishes and surround with strawberries.

  4. Alternatively, spoon the cheese mixture into ramekin dishes, arrange the strawberries on top and chill.

  5. To serve, drizzle honey round each little cream and decorate with sprigs of redcurrants.

Note: Try serving other fresh soft fruit with these cheese and yogurt creams, such as raspberries, blackberries, cooked blackcurrants or redcurrants.
