Desserts Recipes - Plum and Almond Crisp Recipe

Ingredients

Serves 4

  • 50 g/2 oz butter

  • 125 g/4 oz fresh white breadcrumbs

  • 50 g/2 oz light soft brown sugar

  • 50 g/2 oz flaked almonds

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 500 g/1 lb plums, stoned and lightly poached in

  • 150 ml/1/4 pint water and 2 tablespoons sugar

  • whipped cream, to serve


Method:

  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan. Stir in the  breadcrumbs, sugar, almonds and cinnamon.

  2. Put the plums in a pie dish, then sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture over the top.

  3. Bake in a preheated oven, 180°C (350°F), Gas Mark 4, for 30-35 minutes. Serve cold with cream.
