Drinks and Finger Food Recipes - Claret Cup Recipe

Ingredients

Serves 12

  • 75 ml/3 fl oz light rum

  • 1 miniature bottle of orange-flavored liqueur

  • thinly pared rind of 1 lemon

  • 2 bottles claret or other red wine

  • 3 bottles ginger ale

  • ice cubes


Method:

  1. Put the rum and orange-flavored liqueur into a small jug. Add the lemon rind, cover and leave to marinate for about 2 hours.

  2. Pour the claret and ginger ale into a large bowl, add the rum and orange-flavored liqueur mixture with the lemon rind and stir to mix.

  3. Add a handful of ice cubes and serve immediately.
