Drinks and Finger Food Recipes - Loving Cup Recipe

Ingredients

Serves 12

  • 8 sugar cubes

  • 2 lemons

  • 1/2 bottle medium sweet or sweet sherry

  • 1/4 bottle brandy

  • 1 bottle sparkling dry white wine


Method:

  1. Rub the sugar cubes over the lemons to absorb the zest. Thinly peel the lemons and remove as much of the pith as possible.

  2. Thinly slice the lemons and set aside. Put the lemon rind, sherry, brandy and sugar cubes into a jug and stir until the sugar has dissolved. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.

  3. To serve, add the wine to the cup and float the lemon slices on top.
