Drinks and Finger Food Recipes - Sangria Recipe

Ingredients

Serves 18

  • 4 tablespoons Curafao

  • 125 g/4 oz caster sugar

  • 1 orange, thinly sliced

  • 1 bottle rose wine, chilled

  • 1 1/2 bottles light or medium-bodied red wine, such as Rioja

  • 300 ml/1/2 pint orange juice

  • ice cubes


Method:

  1. Combine the Curacao, half the sugar and the sliced orange in a mixing bowl. Stir to dissolve the sugar, then cover and chill for 30 minutes.

  2. Tip the orange mixture into a punch bowl or large jug and add wine, orange juice and the remaining sugar. Stir well to mix and dissolve the sugar.

  3. Taste and add more sugar if you would like a sweeter punch. Add ice cubes and serve immediately.
