Fruit Platter with
Spices

Method:

Peel
the pineapple. Remove the core and any remaining
eyes, then cut the flesh lengthways into thin
wedges. Peel the papayas, cut them in half, and then
into thin wedges.

Halve the melon and remove the
seeds. Cut into thin wedges and remove the skin.
Arrange the fruit on six individual plates and
sprinkle with the lime juice.

Cut the pomegranates
in half using a sharp knife, then scoop out the
seeds, discarding any pith.

Sprinkle the seeds over
the fruit, then sprinkle the salad with a little
ginger and nutmeg to taste. Decorate with sprigs of
fresh mint and serve immediately.
VARIATION : The selection of fruit can be varied
according to what is available. Guava and mango make
an exotic combination' but oranges and plums are
also good.
NOTE: A
simple fresh
fruit platter sprinkled with spices makes a healthy
dessert. It is low in fat and offers a range of
essential vitamins and minerals that are needed for
good health.
