Main Dish Recipes - San Giorgio Marzetti

Ingredients 

  • 8 ounces San Giorgio Medium Egg Noodles

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef

  • 3/4 cup finely chopped onion

  • 1/2 tsp. salt

  • 1 16-ounce jar San Giorgio Spaghetti Sauce with Mushrooms

  • 1/2 cup green pepper     slivers

  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced celery

  • 1 cup frozen peas

  • 1 cup tomato juice

  • 1 Tbs. Worcestershire sauce

  • 1/2 tsp. crushed oregano

  • 1/8 tsp. pepper

  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

  • San Giorgio Grated Parmesan cheese

Makes 8 (1 cup) servings


Method:

  1. Prepare medium egg noodles as directed on package. Brown beef and onion in a heavy skillet until the pink disappears, breaking up the pieces as it cooks; pour off fat.

  2. Sprinkle the meat with salt. Add the remaining ingredients, except for cheeses. Simmer, Covered for 10 minutes.

  3. Add the hot drained noodles and blend. Stir until hot; remove from heat. Blend in Cheddar cheese. Serve in a hot casserole, garnished with Parmesan cheese.

Variation: If you desire, place half of the mixture in a freeze container, cover and freeze. Allow to defrost, sprinkle with buttered San Giorgio Seasoned Bread crumbs and bake.
