Main Dish Recipes - Spaghettini Bolognese

Ingredients 

  • 1/4 lb. mushrooms, sliced

  • 1 carrot, sliced

  • 1 clove garlic, crushed

  • 1/2 cup each: chopped onion, celery and green pepper

  • 2 Tbs. Wesson Oil

  • 3/4 lb. Italian sausage, casings removed

  • 2 6-oz. or 1 12-oz. can Tomato Paste

  • 3 cups water

  • 1/4 cup dry red wine (optional)

  • 1 tsp. sugar

  • 1/4 tsp. Italian herb seasoning

  • 1 lb. spaghettini cooked and drained

Makes 6-8 servings


Method:

  1. Sauté mushrooms, carrot, garlic, onion, celery and green pepper in hot oil in Dutch oven.

  2. Add sausage; cook until sausage loses redness; drain fat.

  3. Add remaining ingredients except spaghettini. Simmer, uncovered, 30 to 40 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve over hot spaghettini.
