Beef Strips with Orange and Ginger Recipe

 

Ingredients

  • 450g/1 lb beef strips

  • rind and juice of 1 orange

  • 15ml/1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 5ml/1 tbsp corn flour

  • 2.5cm/1 in root ginger

  • 10ml/2 tsp sesame oil

  • 1 carrot cut into small trips

  • 2 sliced spring onions

Serves 4


Method:

  1. Place the beef strips in a bowl, sprinkle over the rind and juice of 1 orange. Leave to marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. Drain the liquid and set aside, then mix the meat with soy sauce, corn flour and root ginger.

  3. Heat sesame oil in a wok or large frying pan and add the beef. Stir-fry for 1 minute, add carrot and stir-fry for a further 2-3 minutes.

  4. Stir in 2 sliced spring onions and the reserved liquid, then boil, stirring, until thickened.
