Meats Recipes Fillet Steak Wrapped in Parma Ham Recipe

Ingredients

Serve 4

  • handful of chopped marjoram

  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped

  • 4 x 175 g/6 oz fillet steaks

  • 8 slices of Parma ham

  • 125 g/4 oz buffalo mozzarella, cut into 4 slices

  • salt and pepper


Method:

  1. Mix together the marjoram and garlic and season with salt and pepper.

  2. Coat the steaks with the herb mixture, then wrap them in the Parma ham. Make sure that all the steak is covered with the ham.

  3. Put the steaks on a greased grill rack and place under a preheated very hot grill. as close to the heat as possible without burning them.

  4. Cook on each side for 3 minutes if you like your steak rare, 5-6 minutes for medium and 8 minutes for well done.

  5. Place the slices of mozzarella on the steaks, return to the grill and cook until the mozzarella is melting and just turning golden.

  6. Remove the steaks from the grill and leave to rest for 5 minutes before serving. This allows the meat to relax.
