Side Dishes, Vegetables Recipes - French-Fried Onions

Ingredients                

  • 2 large Bermuda onions

  • 2/3 cup milk

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose enriched flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • Oil for deep frying

  • Salt

Makes about 4 servings


Method:

  1. Cut cleaned onions into 1/4 -inch slices. Separate into rings.

  2. Soak onion rings in milk and then dip in flour seasoned with 1/2 tsp. salt.

  3. Fry a few at a time in deep Oil heated to 375°F.

  4. Cook until lightly browned, 2 to 3 minutes. Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt.
