Side Dishes, Vegetables Recipes - Golden Capped Baked Tomatoes

Ingredients              

  • 6 medium-size tomatoes

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise

  • 1 Tbs. French's Prepared Mustard

  • 1 tsp. French's Minced Onion

  • 1/2 tsp. sugar

  • 2 Tbs. fine dry bread crumbs

Makes 6 servings


Method:

  1. Cut each tomato in half. Place cut side up in a shallow baking dish; sprinkle cut surface with salt and pepper.

  2. Combine the remaining ingredients. Spoon a portion on top of each tomato; spread to cover cut surface.

  3. * Bake in 400°F oven 15 minutes or until topping is lightly puffed and tomatoes are hot.

*Note: Can be prepared in advance to this point. Refrigerate until ready to begin baking. Baking time may need to be increased slightly.
