Vegetable Recipes - Honey-Glazed Turnips Recipe

Ingredients

Serve 4-6

  • 750 g/1 1/2 lb baby turnips

  • 50 g/2 oz butter

  • 2 heaped tablespoons clear honey

  • 2 tablespoons flaked almonds

  • salt and pepper

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons chopped coriander sprigs, to garnish


Method:

  1. Cook the turnips in salted boiling water for about 10 minutes until tender but still firm to the bite. Drain. 

  2. Melt the butter with the honey in a frying pan. Add the turnips and cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring, until glossy.

  3. Toast the almond flakes in a dry frying pan over moderate heat until golden, then stir into the turnips.

  4. Transfer to a warmed serving dish. Season with salt and pepper, pour over the pan juices, sprinkle with the coriander and serve.
